Trainmadgrandad.co.uk, Life, Times and Thoughts of a Railway Enthusiast!'

I often reflect on the heydays of my trainspotting days when I attended Grammar School. We went off as a group of young and questionning enthusiasts on trips, shed-bashing and station hopping. In those days, it seemed to be the weird boys who did not engage in trainspotting! Now it's the less travelled railway modelling that grabs me!

Like so much of the fifties, sixties and seventies already, these memories of ordinary lads following their hobby will be lost forever. Yes, there is the NRM, Shildon and Didcot where tomorrow's youngsters can see the steam powered behomoths who roared down the rails and straight into our hearts. However, how can they comprhend the thrills, adventure, inclusion and camarderie this hobby brought to us!

Readers Central is where you can publish your memories online, My daughters will find a good home for them to be read and observed when I finally shuffle off this mortal coil!
