In 2013, the
Forest of Dean Model Railway Club
held a members' competition to
design a railway diarama in
either N gauge, OO gauge or O
gauge with appropriate size
conditions. I
could not decide on a theme that
was not 'corny', 'hackneyedand'
or 'Old Hat'. I still could not
get started and turned to one of
my favourite railway books, Reading
Between The Lines by Vic
Millington. I alighted onto
his fantasy railway illusion,
"Trains Cross Here". At
this point, I wanted to take into
a three dimensional diarama.
I used a pair
of old Hornby carriages that were
surplus to requirement and some
careful sawing and cutting, a
Hornby crossover track and some
Peco flexitrack offcuts, added to
scenic materials. This was
supplemented by some of my own
stock (unsawn!).
